Epsom Salt
Epsom Salt, which is also known as Magnesium Sulfate, is present in the crystalline form. It is also popularly encountered as the heptahydrate sulfate mineral epsomite. It holds potent chemical compounds like magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen. The organically grown Epsom Salt can be obtained from saline springs. This mineral is made using sulfuric acid, magnesium carbonate, and some other compounds, which have been obtained from natural sources.
Epsom salt (MgSO4 ) is a colorless substance that is in the form of crystals. These are formed when magnesium hydroxide reacts with sulfur dioxide and air. Kieserite, a hydrated form of magnesium sulfate (MgSO4∙H2O), occurs naturally in mineral deposits. The taste of Magnesium Sulfate Epsom Salt is quite bitter, as compared to sodium chloride. Therefore, this mineral is commonly used in agriculture to correct the deficiency of magnesium in the soil.
